Enrique Barrajas
Bio
Born In 1971 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas,the artist studied architecture from 1992 to 1994 and later entered the Julio Ruelas workshop, where he studied from 1994 to 1998. He was selected in the Alfonso Michel Third Biannual of Painting, and the following year, along with the members of the workshop, participated in an itinerant collective exhibition organized by the Museo Francisco Goitia of Zacatecas and the city of Celaya. That same year, the National Fund for Culture and the Arts granted him an endowment in the Young Creators category. He also
participated in the collective exhibition Un Siglo en la Plastica
Zacatecana, held at the Centro Medico Nacional Siglo XXI. He participated in the collective exhibition Soledades soslayadas y dispersas, held at Galeria Irma Valerio.
In 2001, Galeria Jose Maria Velasco invited him to participate in an individual exhibition. “Three Years of Light” in Mexico City. Later, he participated in the collective biannual Puertas Abiertas, organized by the Salon de La Plastica Mexicana.
He traveled to Madrid in 2002 to visit masters and the contemporary and alternative work.
In 2003 he participated in the works “The Masters of Contemporary Art of Zacatecas for the General Consulate in Los Angeles California represented by the Galeria Irma Valerio.
In 2004 the artist showed at the Gallery Cisne in the city of Saltillo, Coahuila.
In 2005, a one man show was exhibited for the artist at the Galeria Irma Valerio in Zacatecas.
He is presently showing at the AnArte Gallery in San Antonio, Texas and will exhibit in August 2005 with other living masters from Mexico.
